Young professionals in cities like New York have hundreds of fitness options - from studios and gyms, to private lessons. The client, an NYC-based startup (currently in stealth mode), came to my then team to design a product that would make utilize this volume of options in a unique way.

Our solution was to create a platform that curates in-demand classes/lessons, and gamify's the user's personal fitness goals in order to personalize the experience, and encourage frequent use of the app. My duties on this project included:

  • conducting research on similar apps in the space
  • making strategic recommendations based on research as to the functionality/capabilities of the app
  • defining product requirements
  • mapping user pathways
  • planning and writing interace, navigational, and microcopy
  • designing functionality of gamification elements
  • composing pitch deck to be used in partnership pitches (to gyms, studios, etc.)
